Tomato Dal

Ingredients
  • 2 cups Toor Dal
  • 4 no's Green Chillie's
  • little Tamarind
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 2 glass Water
  • 3 no's Red Chillies
  • 4 no's Garlic
  • 1/4 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 tsp mustard seeds
  • pinch of Hing saute
  • Salt to taste
  • Curry leaves
Instructions
  1. Take pressure cooker, transfer cleaned dal, add sufficient water, pinch of turmeric powder, chopped tomatoes & 2-3 green chilli, little tamarind and mix well. Then close the lid of pressure cooker & allow to come 2-3 vesicles.

  2. Heat 2 tsp of oil in a pan; add mashed garlic saute for 1 min, add dry red chilli, now add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, turmeric powder, hing saute for 1 more min.

  3. Pour the mixture into the dal stir well, adjust salt & water cook for 5-10 min on medium flame.
  4. Now tomato dal is ready to serve. Serve it with rice or roti.
