  1. Heat a pan; add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, coriander seeds, red chilli, urad dal, toor dal, chana dal, methi seeds, onion, add 1 tsp of oil, dry coconut powder, ginger garlic paste, tamarind saute well & transfer into a blender make as soft paste using little water.

  2. Now heat 3-4 of oil in a pan; add onion cubes saute well, add chopped potatoes saute well, add turmeric & prepared paste, add 1 cup of water, 1/4 cup of beans cook for 5-10 min.
  3. To this add cooked toor dal stir well, add jaggary, red chilli powder, salt, 2 cups of water & cook for 5 min.
  4. Now heat 2 tsp of oil in another pan; add red chilli, mashed garlic, hing, cumin seeds, mustard seeds, turmeric powder, curry leaves saute well & pour this into the cooking dal & stir well.
  5. Take a serving plate place prepared idlies & pour the sambar on them & serve hot.
