Chikkudu Kaya Fry

Method of Preparation:

  • In a pressure cocker take Chikkudu Kaya (flat beans, 500g) add water and boil to get 1 viscle. Remove from stove, stain the water and keep aside.
  • Heat oil (3sp) in a pan; add chana dal, a small amount of mustard, jeera and curryleaves.
  • Add chopped onion (1 cup), peel and lightly crush the garlic cloves (1sp).
  • Now add the cooked flat beans and fry for 2-3min.
  • Add red chilli powder (2sp) and salt (1sp) mix well and cook on low flame for 2-5min. Sprinkle coriander leaves.
  • Remove from heat and serve with plain steamed rice or with roti.
