Chicken Pulao

Method of Preparation:

  • Take chicken pieces (500g) in a bowl; add turmeric (1/2sp), salt (1sp), ginger paste (1sp), red chilli powder (2sp) and garlic paste (1sp) and mix thoroughly. Keep it in the refrigerator for 30 min to marinate.
  • Heat ghee (1sp) and oil in a pan (2sp); add cumin seeds (1/2sp), cloves (3-4), crushed green cardamoms (2-3), bay leaves, cinnamon (3-4) and ginger-garlic paste (1sp) fry for 1-2min.

  • Now add onions (1/4cup) and fry till lightly browned. Add red chilly powder (1sp) and add tomatoes (1/2cup), salt (to taste), and yogurt (1sp) and continue to fry for 2-3 minutes.
  • To this add rice (500g), marinated chicken pieces and mix well.
  • Add water (1lt) and bring it to a boil. To this add coriander leaves, garam masala (1sp).
  • Allow this to cook till both the chicken and rice are cocked well.
  • Remove from the flame and serve hot with Rita.
